Subject: Best way to convert a host to vserver (not same machine)?

Hi List,

what are your best practises when converting a host on machine X to a
vserver to be installed on machine Y?

Ideally, I could imagine some kind of semi-intelligent script to be
installed on X, that

* tar.gz's everything that is needed on X
* adjusts some obvious X configurations, taking the host distro in
consideration (like network config startup script removed, setting
rc_sys to vserver (gentoo), etc)
* spits out a tar.gz of the vserver config files to be used on Y
* lists additional changes and suggestions that might need to be handled
manually

Is there any such one available?

I do work for a company that could be interested in partly sponsoring
the development of such a tool if it doesn't exist, and release it as
open source/PD. If anyone is interested, let me know.
