Anything after pre2882 will deal with it okay, and that is dated
2010-02-25. If you are running anything older than that, it is quite
likely that you will not be able to use a lot of features, and things
may simply just not work.

With Debian's packages, you probably will need to setup the mount
point yourself anyway, so I guess in this case you don't really lose
anything compared to "stock".

You might want to consider upgrading to something semi-recent
though...
