Subject: Hosts distribution portability

I am new to VServer and I have one question for which I could not find
exact answer at the FAQ section..
Documentation says that I can easily move VServer from one host to the
other, if I want to at any point of time, simply by copying entire VServer
installation directory.
However my question is, if I originally built VServer on Fedora Core 10
(kernel 2.6.27.30-170.2.82.fc10.i686), can I move it later to a machine
that runs CentOS 5.3 (kernel 2.6.18-128.el5)?
Is that going to work?
Is VServer portable among hosts running different linux distribution?
