yes, it should be updated, as a) it isn't called
'alias promotion' (never was :) but 'promote secondaries'
basically because it has nothing to do with aliase
(those ar ethe ethX:name thingies :) and the mainline
feature which causes all secondaries to go away when
the primary is removed, only affects the involved network
not the entire interface, i.e. a host with 10.0.0.1/24
will be completely unaffected from a guest with 192.168.0.1/24
going down, but the 'other' (secondary) guest with 192.168.0.2/24
will lose its IP, while 'another' guest with 172.16.0.1/24
will be perfectly fine too ...

note that the first assigned IP in a network will become
the 'primary' unless 'promote secondaries' is enabled, in
which case, a secondary can be 'promoted' to a primary if
the current primary goes away
