Bear in mind the scenario here is that you have to SSH into the gateway 
machine, and then from that machine on to the desired destination 
machine.  The question was about hiding the gateway machine so that it 
feels like you are going directly to the remote machine

Use public key authentication - just file your public key with the ~/.ssh
known_keys file in the context you want to talk to - no login prompt.
