heya,

nothing actually changed in that upgrade on that matter. the only thing 
that i can imagine is that you are missing some modules (it changed 
quite a bit since then, and you might not have all iptable modules 
compiled in your kernel (altough i don't see which ones))
you should check your kernel config on that
you do have:
net/ipv4/ip_forward = 1
right?

anything in system/kernel log?
