because the guest's root filesystem is /?

if you logon to the guest (via normal mechanisms)
you will probably end up there (e.g. via ssh),
but there is no reason for an 'emergency rescue'
entrance, to put you into /root (or wherever the
root dir is) because it might not even exist ...
