Perhaps a better way to communicate with the host without having to open ssh is to simply
use a named pipe.
You could, for example, in your guest do mkfifo /tmp/IPS. And on your host do something
like:
while read IP < path_to_guest/tmp/IPS ; do echo $IP ; done
Replace echo $IP with whatever you want to do with the IP.
Now, to use, on the guest: echo 192.168.1.101 > /tmp/IPS
