Side stepping all the other relies I'll jump in and say this is the way 
I and the companies I support use LV.

One is a small ISP has they have 15-20 guests on each host system.  DNS 
(authority and resolvers), MX spools, database, RT, specialized apps, 
internal YUM repo, SVN repo, etc.

And personally I have a mail server, database, four web servers (one for 
each distinct client), a development guest, and two LedgerSMB instances.

This works great.
