Herbet,

the whole Debian net install & vserver packages install worked fine with the
IP@ 172.16.63.107 (+ proxy stuff in /etc/apt/apt.conf). I reconfigured the
interface with IP@ 172.16.63.117, and I can also reach the internet. So It
does not sound like a routing issue. But well, suddenly I got a stupid
question : I supposed that the IP@ set for the "--interface" option must
belong to the same subnet as the one already set on the corresponding
interface. Is that right ?

Mark,

going to try the Kernel & util-vserver you suggested.

Thanks,
Yon

while that is true, the 'hanging around' mentioned
in the previous mail (@mark please do not crop mail
threads in the future :) sounds more like the IP
you are using is not able to reach the internet

check that this works and you didn't mess up the
netmask/prefix or use an unrouted IP
