Just an update to my previous email to you. I tried the solution as it is described at: http://linux-vserver.org/Frequently_Asked_Questions_scratch#When_I_start_a_vserver.2C_.22FATAL:_kernel_too_old.22_message_appears_and_vserver_can.27t_be_started and issued the following: 'echo '2.6.29' > /etc/vservers/fedora11/uts/release' but again when I tried to start the guest I got the same error stating that the kernel is too old. TIA, Dragan ---------------------------- Original Message ---------------------------- Subject: Strange error message ... From: "Dragan Saraginov" <dragan@saraginov.com> Date: Fri, August 21, 2009 2:51 pm To: vserver@list.linux-vserver.org -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi there. I am having issues to start my new created guest with Fedora 11 OS. Namely after I created the guest I tried to start it and after few seconds of hanging I got the following error message: ================================================ FATAL: kernel too old An error occured while executing the vserver startup sequence; when there are no other messages, it is very likely that the init-script (/etc/rc.d/rc 3) failed. ================================================ The kernel and util-vserver versions installed are: kernel version - 2.6.17.13-v.s2.0.2.1 util-vserver - 0.30.214 Is there a way to avoid this without restarting the physical server with newer kernel? TIA, Dragan Saragin -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
